Adding text to the "Mac" buttons and tabs.
First of all open your button or tab, and select
"Colours", "Increase Colour Depth" then "16 million colours".
Then select "Layers", "New" a dialog box will open asking for
details about the new layer, simply select "Ok" to accept the
defaults.
Select black as your foreground colour and click on the text
tool (which is a capital "A"). Type the text you want on the
button and select a font and size, I've used Arial at 16
points. Once you've typed the text you want, select "Okay"
and using your mouse move the text to where you want it.
Leave the text selected.
Select "Image", "Effects" then "Drop Shadow". The settings
here are, Color - Black, Opacity - 70, Blur - 5.5, Vertical - 3,
Horizontal - 3. Then select okay. Finally click on "Selections",
then "Select None". Find the Layers palette and select layer 1,
move the slider from 100 across to 70.
To clear up, select "Layers", "Merge", then "Merge All (Flatten)".
Then "Colours", "Decrease Colour Depth", "256 Colours" and save
the file.
