Animating the 88 x 31 button.
Next job is to animate the button we created in the
previous tutorial, I've created two buttons the same
size, one called tut1.gif and one called tut2.gif,
here they are,
This tutorial is done using Microsoft Gif Animator,
you can however use any gif animation program the
basics are much the same.
Open up Microsoft Gif Animator, and click on the
folder on the top row of buttons, find the file
you want to appear second in your animation and
open it. Then, click on the "insert" button, this
looks like a small piece of paper with a "+" sign
on in.
You should now have both the buttons open in two
little windows on the left. Click on the "Animation"
tab and check the boxes labelled "looping" and
"Repeat Forever". Then click on the "Image" tab,
click inside the box labelled "Duration" this
sets how long the FIRST image will stay on screen
for before the next takes over. I've used 100.
Finally click on the second of your buttons on the left
side of your screen, and again type a value in the
"Duration" box, I've again used 100.
That's it, you can now preview your animation by clicking
on the small "Play" button in the top right hand corner of
Microsoft Gif Animator (next to the question mark). Once
your happy save your animation by clicking on the little
pile of floppy disks and giving it a name. This is the
finished button.
